Since my first week with MLG; I have set a goal to be a part of the Leadership Team and attend the Genius Makers meetings. I started with the firm in 2017; and my personal goal was to begin attending these meetings by mid-2018. As a result of low production in 2017 and inconsistent production in Q1/Q2 2018; I didn’t feel it appropriate to push for this. I believe while commitment, leadership, teamwork (a giver mentality – humble and hungry), and “company first” attitude are key components to demonstrating leadership qualities that I both demonstrate and make an effort to continue improving upon. The new role I have taken on has not only given me the confidence to feel I can contribute more to the company, my team, and myself in a way that I simply did not feel I was in a position to do prior to making the change.
Glenn and Erick have continually pushed me harder and harder to be the best version of myself I am capable of being. They have been instrumental in ensuring I remain focused on both our team goals and my personal goals. The leadership they have both demonstrated and the qualities and values they have instilled in me is what gives me the confidence and drive to confidently say I am both ready and qualified to begin taking on more responsibility and a leadership role that will benefit the company, my team, and myself (in that order).
It is my firm belief that I will be able to offer a wide range of contributions to the Genius Makers program; with my primary goal being to learn and develop new skills as well as expand on existing skills that time and time again the current leadership team has demonstrated their willingness to invest in those who are ready and open to investing in themselves by putting in the time and effort. Everything I know (which I will admit is limited) and have heard about the Genius Makers program is something from a growth standpoint I crave, maybe even more importantly; I need. The vision that trickles down from these meetings (via production meetings and from those who already attend these meetings) is a vision I desperately would like to not only be a part of but to continue help shape..
Thank you for the opportunity, and look forward to being a regular part of the Genius Makers group.
